Thanks, Heather for the update on Pinterest moving Boards around. I don’t understand why there is not an alpha order board option on Pinterest. Is it me, or doesn’t that seem like a common sense setting to have? Thanks again, for ryour help.

There is a sort for board. It is on your profile page at the bottom of the page on the left side. You click sort and then choose how you want to sort. I have mine alphabetized.

I’ve been doing this since I opened my account years ago. Damned OCD!!! Hahaha

Came over here from Pinterest and just wanted to add that I rearranged my boards recently and when I went back, only the first few were in place. When I checked up on the problem, I found that Pinterest recommends you refresh after a few changes so that it can keep up. I refreshed after every half dozen changes or so and it worked perfectly!

Melody Gardner says
I like the refresh idea. I tried once and just got a mess. Actually, I would like mine to be in divided areas. I desperately need sewing, cooking, and other interests in groups!

Then you just put them together that way and not alphabetically. The only issue is that if you start a new board you have to drag it the the area where it’s ‘cousin’ boards are. Check out my boards and you will see that the recipes are first and then Catholic/inspiration, then a bunch of homeschooling boards (I think) and then home/craft boards and then others…..they work for my brain, but not for many other people’s!LOL! https://www.pinterest.com/hsmomforlife/

How do you backup your pinterest boards?
Reply
heather says
Hi Mama Spins! I’m not sure I know what you mean…..your Pinterest boards are saved within your Pinterest account so Pinterest manages them, you are not ‘saving them’ yourself, to your computer. Is that what you mean? I hope that helps! Thanks for visiting Setting for Four!

Is there a way to rearrange the boards on a IPad? No computer.
Reply
heather says
Hi Linda – not that I know of….you need to be able to right click with a mouse to move them!! Maybe you could go to a friend’s house that has a computer or your library to do it? Thanks for visiting!

Why can’t I alphabetize all my boards? Some won’t move. Thanks
Reply
heather says
I’m not sure why some won’t move – I haven’t had that happen, sorry! I hope you can figure it out!

Jennifer says
I just wanted to share that I find it so much easier to manually move my boards if I use the Control button and the mouse wheel together to make the screen images of the boards much smaller. I can then see more boards on a row and it is not so confusing when I try to move the boards (by resting the mouse on the board until you see a hand and then holding down the left mouse button – move and drop).

please help!! I so would like to organize my boards by topic ( I respect that most prefer to do it by alphabet) , I on the other hand need topic organizing. An example is all food item boards next to each other. Thank you, can you help me, mrswilliam —

You’d just have to move them around into groups – such as all of your food boards all together. I hope that helps!

Do you have any tips for alphabetizing using the app for android?
Reply
heather says
Sorry – I’m not sure it can be done that way…..I do it on my laptop. If I find out a way to do it using the app I’ll post it!

Elisa says
They used to have a button when you went to edit that said “rearrange all boards alphabetically?” and then it did them all for you. Any chance you found how to do it that way?? Thanks for the tips!
Reply
heather says
Hi Elisa – no there isn’t a button like that anymore! Wish they still had that! You’re welcome for the tips and thanks for visiting!

It doesn’t work with an iPad as it has a touch pad, not a mouse. Any instructions to move them with the touch-pad?
Reply
heather says
No I don’t use my iPad to move my boards Lois. Have a great day!

Dianne says
Thank you so much! I didn’t know how to do this and it was irritating when it wasn’t in alphabetical order!

I’m having problems when moving boards into alphabetic order. I have organized my Pinterest boards in alphabetical order for several years, with no problem. But recently when I try to organize my boards they’ll bounce back to where I was dragging them from. How can I make sure the board stays after releasing left click hold?
Reply
heather says
Hi Lu – it’s probably a glitch with Pinterest. Try in a couple of days to see if it works!

Elaine Donaldson says
No it does not make any difference how many times I do it the boards will not stay where I put them. Some instructions I found said to “refresh” the page but I cant find out how to do that. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pinterest recently changed things! Boards can’t be arranged. I’m hoping they fix it soon!

Jamie says
UGH! I’ve tried rearranging my boards a million times! Wasted so much time organizing them just to refresh the page and see all my hard work gone! SO frustrating!
heather says
Yes Jamie I agree! Pinterest doesn’t allow us to organize our boards alphabetically anymore – it’s a new change they implemented!
Linda Chaves says
I also cannot change the boards, and I do not have the ‘Edit’ at the top of the Boards page, or anywhere. I have checked and this is the latest update for Mac. When I move the boards with the mouse, all they do is exchange positions, or pop back…I have read many posts which tell me to simply move them, but on my Mac this does not work. I am so frustrated!

I have a pinterest board for my old High School’s Football teams that I had arranged by year and when I went into it today they were all out of order. Can I rearrange them alphabetically without manually moving them all? How do I make it stay That way?
Reply
heather says
Hi David – Pinterest just changed the way that boards appear in a person’s profile. There is no way to move them into the order you want right now. Wish we could order them!!

There is noting that exists like that on my board!! I sure wish I could find a way to alphabetize them!! You would think that Pinterest would want to make things as easy as possible for those that use it, not make it more difficult!!
