Meridian Public Works explains why road issues keep popping upMERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - The City of Meridian has recently seen several roadway issues, especially in areas with heavy traffic. Crews finished packing the utility cave-in on 18th Avenue Wednesday, getting it one step closer to being paved. Crews were also out on 5th Street downtown digging into another hole that popped up due to dirt underneath the pavement settling on Wednesday afternoon.

Warm WeatherMERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - As the cooler weather has passed, Thursday will kick off fairly hot temperatures. Each day temperatures will increase, starting off with lower 90s. Upper 90s are expected towards the end of the week with temperatures scorching by Saturday. Sunny and hot with feel-like temps in the triple-digits. Humidity will pick making it feel hotter than what it actually is. Father’s Day will bring in similar heat in the upper 90s with chances of scattered showers. This trend will continue into the following week, with isolated showers and cloudy conditions. Giving us a slight break from blazing hot temps. Hot temperatures are expected to continue as we transition into summer.

All WTOK channels are back up and runningMERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - UPDATE: All channels managed by WTOK are up and running after necessary repairs were made to the towers. Earlier: Crews at the WTOK-TV tower facility isolated the lighting issues with the tower. General Manager, Jacque Harms, says crews must work on a beacon at the top of the 240 foot structure. This will require us to shut off the transmitter at noon for repairs. She says, “We are hopeful that the repairs can be done within a couple hours as we know how important our programming is to our viewers.”
